Biography

Cori Deming (they/them) is the Program Coordinator for Signature Events and Student Support at The Center for Sexuality and Gender Diversity (SGD). Cori grew up in a rural village in southwest Minnesota and lived there until they graduated high school. They attended Minnesota State University, Mankato where they earned a Bachelors Degree of Science in History with a Minor in Gender & Women’s Studies. While at Mankato, Cori volunteered at the LGBT Center and served as a Community Advisor in Residential Life. Wanting to continue learning about and working in Higher Education, Cori then attended the University of Kansas for graduate school and served as a Scholarship Hall Director for Student Housing and an SGD Graduate Intern. In May 2020, Cori graduated with their Masters Degree of Education in Higher Education Administration. Before returning to KU, Cori continued to work in various Residential Life roles at Minnesota State University, Mankato and Carleton College post-graduation. When not working, Cori enjoys spending time with their partner and friends, tending to their many houseplants, cooking and baking, and watching horror movies.
